TWO Doves Hidden in the Cleft in the Rock

Sr. Giang Vo & Sr. Deepa Kingry

Today, the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, we welcomed not one, but TWO postulants into our monastic community! We are so grateful to God that these wonderful women have said their YES! to begin the great adventure of Dominican monastic life, especially during this year of our 800th Jubilee year! What an appropriate day to begin their new life in the cloister for we are reminded on this feast to hide ourselves in the loving heart of Jesus as the Song of Songs tells the Bride that she is as a dove hidden in the clefts of the rock.
We are also looking forward to another postulant who hopes to enter this summer and to 2 aspirants. Please continue to pray for their perseverance and growth in holiness as they immerse themselves into our life of community, prayer, study and work.
Sr. Deepa Kingry, 29, is a native of Atlanta, Georgia and worked as a youth minister. Sr. Deepa has an older sister and a younger brother.

Sr Giang Vo, 21, is a native of Vietnam but has lived in Arlington, Texas since she was a small child. She just finished her junior year in college, majoring in biology. Sr. Giang is the youngest of eight children, all girls!

Sr. Mary Catharine fusses over Sr. Deepa's postulant jumper.
The bane of every postulant's existence: slipping veils!
Tuck, or Miss Ginger saw the sisters outside having their picture taken and had to get into the picture!
