Jubilee Rosary Pilgrimage

In celebration of the 800th Anniversary of the Order of Preachers a "Pilgrim Rosary" has been travelling through all of the monasteries of the Order. Each monastery was assigned one or two days to celebrate the Rosary with the Dominican Family in whatever way they decided. Our monastery was assigned October 6th and October 8th (October 7th, the Solemnity of Our Lady of the Rosary, being celebrated by the whole Order).

On October 6th we invited members of the Dominican Family for rosary and Solemn First Vespers of Our Lady of the Rosary. We had representatives from the friars, apostolic sisters, lay fraternity, priestly fraternity, and, of course, the nuns! Fr. Ken Letoile, OP, Provincial of the Eastern Province, presided and gave a wonderful homily. Each decade of the rosary was led by a representative of the different branches, passing among them the Jubilee Rosary we received from the monastery in Chile. Since this is a Jubilee, we invited our guests to pray in the nuns' choir with us and we enjoyed refreshments with them in St. Dominic's Hall after the liturgy.
