A Sneaky God Thing

Although the feast of St. Mary Magdalene wasn't observed yesterday because it was a Sunday, Divine Providence provided the Gospel for the feast of St. Mary Magdalene as the Sunday Gospel.

Unbeknownst to our music directress, Sr. Maria, the music chosen for Mass fit well with the "international theme" in the kitchen for we sang from both the Roman and Byzantine tradition. While the Ordinary was Mass IX the opening hymn and Communion hymn were from the Ukrainian rite. Below is the communion hymn, Do Not Be Afraid sung to the Kievan Chant 6. This is the homily of the Installation Mass of John Paul II, arranged by Sr. Mary of the Cross.

Do not be afraid!
