Christ My Hope Has Risen!

A Blessed and Joyous Easter to all our readers world-wide! During these most solemn days you were remembered in our life of prayer!

Holy Saturday has got to be the longest day of the year! Despite longer Offices and the flurry of preparations for the Vigil and in the kitchen and community room it seems like the 8:00 clapper will never sound!

For the 2nd year in a row it was a chilly night making the Easter fire a doubly welcome sight! Sr. Mary Catharine is our community "pyromaniac" and last night's wind helped give us a nice, roaring fire!

While Holy Thursday and Good Friday are open to the public the Easter Vigil is for the community only as the high points of the blessing of the fire and the Easter water take place inside the enclosure. With the intonation of the Gloria our black cappas are whipped off revealing the white of our Dominican habit. It's an old Dominican custom which we thoroughly enjoy!

"This is the day that the Lord has made!" As we enjoy the joys of the Resurrection we remember each of you before the Throne of God thanking Him for your generosity, both in temporal and spiritual gifts!
