Fr. Peter Stravinskas Guest Preacher for Rosary Sunday

Fr. Peter Stravinskas will be the guest preacher at the Rosary Sunday Pilgrimage on Sunday, Oct 2, 2011, 3PM at the Monastery of Our Lady of the Rosary.

Fr. Stravinskas is the founder of the Priestly Society of Blessed John Henry Newman, editor of the Catholic Response and has written numerous books and articles. He is also the Executive Director of the Catholic Education Foundation.

The first Sunday of October was, in the Dominican calendar, always celebrated as the feast of the Most Holy Rosary, the patronal feast of the monastery. The Nuns continue this tradition by honoring our Lady and invoking her powerful intercession with a "Rosary Pilgrimage".

The Dominican Nuns have been hosting this Holy Hour since 1921.

October 2nd is also the 92nd anniversary of the founding of the monastery.

The Rosary Pilgrimage is a holy hour with the recitation of the rosary which includes a procession around the monastery church and antiphons for each mystery of the Rosary sung by the nuns, the Blessing of the Roses, a sermon on our Lady and the Rosary by a guest preacher and concludes with Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament.

Come early for a good parking space. Pilgrims may park at the monastery or next door at the Claremont Corporation Building on Morris Avenue.

Please come and honor our Lady! Our world is in such need of her powerful intercession!

Bring your family! Bring friends!
