Fill 'er Up!

Our all-natural liquid soap has always been popular with our customers. In fact, even Pope Francis used our Milk'n Honey Liquid Soap during his visit to New York! However, filling the bottles was something none of us looked forward to and it became an opportunity to "offer it up!"

It took at least four sisters all morning to transfer 5 gallons of liquid soap to the pump bottles. It was a messy job with soap spilled everywhere! We used 50 funnels and a homemade system to clean the bottles of any sticky residue.

Thankfully, this is all in the past as we were able to acquire a piston filler! Now, just 2 sisters can fill, cap and label about 10 gallons in less than a morning! Not only that, there is much less mess and clean up!

Our aspirant, Marie, helps Sr. Maria Johanna fill and cap liquid soap.

Sr. Mary Ana labels each bottle, makes sure the caps are on tight and the bottle is clean of any residue!

Purchasing the filler was quite an education! We had no idea what we didn't know and what we would learn!

It all started out with deciding to purchase a filler for honey from the company we purchase many of our candle making supplies. Wanting to make sure that the filler could handle the viscosity of the soap the nice folks at Mann Lake got us in contact with the German company that makes their honey filler. The answer came back, "No! You can't used this filler for soap!" We found out that the parts would get corroded by the soap over time!

Packing up the liqud soap for future use! The new filler allows us to stay ahead!

So, it was back to square one. We didn't want to make an investment in equipment like this dealing with a foreign company so searched around until we found a company here in the US. Thanks to the expert help of Betsy and the great people at Cleveland Equipment & Machinery we now have a great piston filler making us happy to provide you with our all-natural liquid soap!

It's a busy morning in the soap room! We're getting ready for spring!
